In this one we look at what you need to have with you when driving in France. Hopefully this quick guide to driving in France will answer a lot of your questions and ensure you are full prepared for your French road tri holiday.

You Must :
Check your motor insurance
UK Sticker (Not GB) – Magnet / Sticker
EU Breakdown Cover
V5 Doc (VE103 if a hire car) / Insurance Cert / Licence / Passport
Headlamp converters (for most cars)
Hi Viz for each passenger (to hand) – seat pocket?
Warning Triangle

Recommended :
2 x Breathalyser kit
Spare Bulb Kit
Fire Extinguisher
First Aid Kit

Major traffic rules :
Drive on the right!
Lower drink drive limit than UK
Check Child Seat Rules
Must turn off speed camera detectors on sat nav or phone app.
Not allowed to use a handsfree headset or earphones (unless built in to helmet)
Clean air stickers required for some major cities (check online before you travel)
Red light with yellow arrow, can turn right but must give way to traffic and pedestrians
There are toll roads!

Tips :
Change digital speedo to kmh
Take extra care on roundabout and juntions (you are sitting on the wrong side of the car!)
