Yes, I know CED Discs is redundant. I didn't invent the thing. Oh also, RCA reused the name "SelectaVision" for their VCR's. With so many names, so few people have heard of it. This came out AFTER LaserDisc (a.k.a. DiscoVision). It took them forever to develop a cheap way to make and play video records. The idea was to quickly stamp out cheap video records as exposed to expensive tape or (gasp) optical disks. They took too long though and LaserDisc became cheaper/better/more reliable/better name. I have only seen one real life example of one of these machines- a broke one in the thrift store for 80 bucks. Honestly, I should have got it. They're quite rare. They're also difficult to get working again. The discs themselves are pretty cheap on ebay though. When you take them out of the plastic housing, it's just a record with a reflective coating. It really was a video record.
