As believers many want to be bold in the Lord. There are so many stories and demonstrations of boldness in the Bible that are awe-inspiring. We read of great triumphs and well fought wars that brought great victories.
These are what make us all want to be bold like them. There were so many times I thought that I would be bold for Christ. I have been bold in all the wrong ways. Nothing was accomplished except failure. The boldness of the Holy Spirit is not about talking louder or nose-to-nose doctrinal debates.
There is another kind of boldness that manifests the very life of Jesus Christ empowered by His love. The flesh has nothing to do with it. This kind of boldness is only by and from the Holy Spirit. God does not need any help from us to convict others of sin, or to drive home a truth.
The true boldness comes from desperation, persecution and being afraid. All of which creates a spiritual boldness to go to God in prayers. You are made bold in these ways. The boldest saints are the meekest and quietest, yet are full of power.
"I would go to the deeps a hundred times to cheer a downcast spirit. It is good for me to have been afflicted, that I might know how to speak a word in season to one that is weary.”
~ Charles Spurgeon
