Maine officer lends helping hand to skunk stuck in a sticky situation

An Old Town police officer went above and beyond the call of duty to help a Maine skunk with not one, but two cups stuck on its head.

Police say Officer Hilton had an encounter with a skunk in the Dunkin’ drive-thru in Old Town a few weeks ago.

To Officer Hilton's surprise, the skunk had two cups stuck on its head.

Body cam footage released on Saturday shows the officer helping the skunk out by removing both cups.

Police say Officer Hilton had never seen a skunk before moving to Maine from Georgia this spring.

He’s been working at the Old Town Police Department since April.
