Massive black hole

A massive black hole is a region in space where the gravitational pull is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape from it. This happens because a massive star collapses under its own gravity after it exhausts its nuclear fuel. The resulting singularity is surrounded by an event horizon, which is the point of no return for anything falling into the black hole. Massive black holes are found at the centers of galaxies and can have masses millions or billions of times that of our Sun.
