Should I lease or buy an Electric Car?

Buying or leasing an EV takes a bit more thought than leasing or buying an internal combustion engine car, but why? EV technology is developing at a rapid pace and that makes it very difficult to judge the cost of ownership of your EV over a medium/long term period.

Leasing an EV is a great option if you want to fully understand your costs whilst not being stuck tied to a vehicle that could be worth less than you expect in a few years. With EV's, battery degradation is a known issue but how will future cars deal with this? will degradation become less of an issue? will replacement EV batteries become a cheap way around this or will the older tech simply lose its value? at the moment it's very difficult to predict so my best advice is to lease your EV rather than buying it.

Leasing an electric car is a great option in my eyes, and in my opinion, a far better one than buying a new electric car at the present time.
