Bicyclist screams down mountain road at insane speed
Jackass Mountain is a famous peak on Highway 1 in British Columbia. It is known for the steep plunge that leads down from the road to the river below. During the construction of the road, a team of mules that were pulling a cart full of rocks and debris lost their footing and fell to their death below. The peak was aptly named Jackass Mountain after this tragic mishap.
One of the steepest and longest descents on the whole highway, this stretch of road took Dave almost half an hour to climb and only three minutes to come down. Riding a 20 speed carbon fiber road bike with wheels the width of your thumb, this cyclist goes into a tuck and leans out over the handlebars to reduce wind resistance. The gorgeous scenery whips by, along with oncoming cars and even a pedestrian as he makes his way down.
During the entire descent, not a single car passes because he is travelling at almost the speed limit. What an insane experience. Remember, do not try this at home.
