The first half of the match between Spain and England was a tight affair, with both teams creating chances but failing to break the deadlock. England had the first real opportunity of the game, with Raheem Sterling forcing a save from Spain goalkeeper David de Gea with a low shot from the edge of the box.

Spain soon began to dominate possession, and created some good opportunities, with Dani Ceballos and Isco both having shots blocked by the England defence. However, the best chance of the half fell to Spain right-back Dani Carvajal, who headed against the post from close range following a corner.

The second half started in a similar fashion to the first, with both teams struggling to create chances. However, Spain began to gain the upper hand, and they eventually took the lead in the 56th minute through a stunning strike from Ceballos. The Real Madrid midfielder picked the ball up on the edge of the box and curled an unstoppable effort into the top corner of the net.

England pushed for an equaliser, but Spain held firm to secure a 1-0 victory.
