Well this one was a bit more challenging. Not because Christina isn't wonderful. She is. It was just difficult to understand what she was hoping to achieve. She had no real idea of her personal style. But she had a funky artsy hand bag and that is the direction I wanted to go. When she was showing me photos I leaned over to Kelly and wispered "I think red." While Kelly was applying the color, Christina said "You're not going red, are you?" HA! While I was styling, she said, "I don't like it. It looks '80's." Then felt badly when I became frustrated. Often when I'm styling the hair the client will say..."I don't think I'm going to be able to do that." So I have to do it quickly which often compromises my vision of the final look. Christina was one of the lovliest women I've met. Heart of gold. It is just difficult to take a beginner and make them a pro in a few hours. I do hope she comes back with some at home practice and on line study. I'd like a more sassy, alluring and innovative look. It just has to be right FOR HER.
