The Defense Ministry has published footage of the work of the Russian inspection team of the Black Sea Fleet patrol ship Vasily Bykov on the dry cargo ship Sukra Okan, which was sailing under the flag of Palau to the Ukrainian port of Izmail on August 13.
The agency reports that the Sukra Okan failed to comply with the Black Sea Fleet patrol, after which Russian servicemen boarded the dry cargo ship to check documents and "inspection measures" in the ship's premises.
The Turkish owner of the vessel, Sukra Okan, told CNN that the Russian military did not threaten the crew or take any "negative actions" during the inspection of the dry cargo ship on Sunday.
A spokesman for the Turkish shipping company that owns the dry cargo ship said the barge was empty at the time of the inspection and was on its way to pick up grain for delivery to European and Turkish docks.
Russian servicemen, along with the captain, spent about an hour inspecting the ship's cabins and checking the documents and passports of all 12 crew members.
After withdrawing from the grain deal, Russia warned that any ships heading to Ukraine would be considered as potentially carrying weapons.
