PayPal has informed select users via email that it will temporarily halt cryptocurrency buying services in the UK starting from October 1, 2023. This pause is expected to last until early 2024. During this period, users will still be able to hold and sell their cryptocurrencies, but buying will be unavailable. The company hasn't clarified if transfers to other wallets and exchanges will be possible. PayPal assured users that their crypto assets remain secure and that holding will not incur charges.
