Yakutia is a unique region of Russia - extreme winters, endless taiga, magnificent nature. One of the most river and lake regions of Russia; three time zones and the indigenous peoples of Siberia.
Incredibly, the development of the republic has always been inextricably linked with aviation: the first aircraft flew in the sky over Yakutia in 1925, just three years after the creation of the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic as part of the Russian state.

“The main tourist brand of Yakutia is cold" - says Timur Khandy, Minister of Entrepreneurship, Trade and Tourism of Yakutia. "It is in winter that we see a large flow of tourists from the extreme. As part of the Winter Begins festival in Yakutia, we introduce guests to Yakut cuisine and the main Yakut magician Chys Khaan ("Master of Cold").
Yakutia is indeed a tourist country though very wild. The most popular destinations are "Lena Pillars National Park", Oy-Myakon's "Pole of Cold", Mount Kisilyakh. Sand lakes "Tukulany", lake "Labynkyr" and glacier "Buluus" are also very popular.
