'Everytime' Script Shift

[Reflective & Contemplative Poem Collection] -
We all have ‘scripts’ that we operate through …. ‘acquired behaviours’ and ‘reservations’ from experiences, good, bad and indifferent!! How we ‘discern’ which ones are redundant and no longer serve us is important and releasing them and healing ‘our outlook’ is very important. As we each heal, we help the human collective. ‘Everytime’ Scrip Shift may help us recognise and work on this process …. it helped me!!

It will be part of a collection that I refer to as 'Reflective & Contemplative’ poems which contains ‘an Analytical and Pensive blend of observational ditties and experiences.

Poem Wording:-

‘Everytime’ – Script Shift

Overall, it seems that ‘everytime’
I’ve erred … on the side of …
being ‘taken for a ride’.
Or, ‘everytime’ I’ve opened …
I have been cast aside!

‘Everytime’ I have sought …
it was not freely given!
‘Everytime’ I have allowed …
it was taken as if expected or due?!

‘Everytime’ I have pushed away …
it’s behaved like a crowd!!

‘Everytime’, as a story may say …
‘I have not felt or been respected’.

Well, well, well – so ‘there’ it is …
that elusive pain from inside.
Out you come now, as ‘in there’,
you can no longer reside!

Come on, move along now ….
Outside. Outside! Off you go ….
Off now … brush it off … sweep it out
No more hesitations or doubt!

In the air and on to the light.
Whew, that feels better.
It feels easier and it feels right!
Replaced now, with healing bright.
Let it settle. Sit a while.

So now … why was, all that,
Sitting ‘in there’? ‘Residing inside’?
Didn’t I know or realise that
‘an open heart’ needs loving
boundaries and self-care?!

Especially if it is to remain ‘full’ and share.
No…. that ‘self love’ lesson,
I think it got a bit ‘put-about’.
It doesn’t seem, that it’s yet,
been fully straightened out …

Old lessons’ lenses were … to give, ie
‘love me as I have loved you’ – Give.
‘love your neighbour as yourself’ – Give.
Seems I go that one twisted about and
somehow loved my neighbour … before myself!
Self sacrifice, not so nice.
That wiley little ‘elf’ in myself!
Awareness now – forgiveness, not blame.
Self love. Not in a toxic, greedy or selfish way.
But with knowing, kindness and confidence in play.

With ‘healthy’ self-awareness
and boundaries in place.
Taking time to ‘assess a question’.
Seeing if it ‘rings true’ in you.

The script shift…..
So … how is ‘now’ action, now serving me or who?
Am I open – both freely giving and given?
Are I and others ‘allowing’
without expectation of gain?
‘Repelling’ or ‘dispelling’,
without inviting in again?
Remember, it starts with respecting yourself.
Retain awareness and control of, the little ‘elf’!

We all have at least ‘one’ of those every times.
Which ones were yours and which mine?
Does it even matter now?!
If they have lost their mental grip?

Sometimes it takes a few ‘shake offs’,
to get clear of the every times
and set in the new script shift change.

They are gone off … it’s fine.
You chose!
Script shift, ‘sovereign self’ each and every time!
Let old off. Remember … create
a new and a joyful paradigm.
Redefine.
No more old ‘everytime’!!

Now its self-love, self-care, self-repair.
Then share and love thy neighbour…
As thyself.
No second guessing, with the little ‘elf’.
Off that shelf and into self delve!
