Gary Schwartz takes up the acid test of extraordinary claims—he calls it the “Five Finger Test” (FFT)—with an emphasis on original and groundbreaking experiments. He critically applies the FFT to the EU Model in this re-release of his conference presentation at EU2015: Paths of Discovery on June 29, 2015.

Many folks hold claim to a secret idea or “new theory.” But when is a theoretical novelty worth exploring? Innovators feel they are ignored or cheated, and one could find reason for justifying this perception. What's the proper path when an idea grabs hold of an individual and won’t let them go? What is the role of factual evidence?

Gary Schwartz, PhD, received his doctorate from Harvard, and was a tenured professor at Yale where he helped found the field of behavioral medicine. Dr. Schwartz has published over 450 scientific papers and is the author of "Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence: The Science and Ethics of Truth Seeking and Truth Abuse" (2022).
