“Judgment by the World Wide Flood”
19th In our series the Epistle of 2nd Peter

I. The Evidence of the World Wide Flood - Romans 1:21-25
* A. Biblical Testimony - 2 Peter 2:4-5
* 1. Every living thing to be destroyed - Genesis 7:4-7
* 2. The mountains completely covered by water - Genesis 7:17-23
* B. Evidence in the geological record 
* 1. Billions of dead things buried in rock layers laid down by water all over the earth
* 2. Underwater archeology reveals submerged ancient river systems
* a. Why are humans prone to ignore or even deny the evidence of a world wide flood?
* b. The presumption of uniformitarianism - 2 Peter 3:3-6
* c. Judgment will not be avoided by ignorance -Genesis 6:5-8

II. There was only one Door for salvation from the flood - 2 Peter 2:5
* A. God’s provision was the ark which Noah built. 
* B. For 120 years Noah preached and built the ark
* 1. Not one human outside his wife, three sons and their wives paid any attention to anything Noah preached
* 2. The rain fell despite disbelief - Matthew 24:37-39
* C. God’s Word promises another coming cataclysm, is there an ark in that coming judgment?
* 1. There is only one door for salvation - John 14:6 
* 2. The saints alive on earth during the tribulation have promised protection until their work is done
* a. The saints sealed by God - Revelation 7:2-4, 14
* b. The woman representing the church is preserved in the wilderness - Revelation 12:6, 11-17, 6:9
