Extreme weather unfolds as heat dome sits over North America

Hurricane Hilary is heading towards California as the second tropical storm to make landfall in California in history, for the first time since 1997. The extreme heat in central U.S. is not getting to Canada, but is causing storms through the southern Prairies into the Great Lakes for the week to come.
