Bolivar Gran Republica Toro Cigar Review - This 6x54 stick features a dark chocolate, firmly packed oily sating wrapper with fine tooth, large double cap and pungent aroma of fire cured tobacco, sweet cocoa and pepper. First light reveals a flawless draw with thick chewy medium-full bodied smoke showing a building smooth leather and cocoa core with pepper zing and slight spice through the finish, with a zesty retro. The first third comes down to a medium body with a slight caramel and oak joining in, while the spice diminishes and the smoke gets thinner. The 1/2 way point comes at 40 minutes with notes unchanged but body back up to a medium-full with again thick richer smoke and perfect construction. Ending at 1:35 the last third slowed the burn, keeping the big body with flavors shifting to a pronounced caramel and leather, smooth sweet cocoa, slight coffee and just touch of pepper but no spice through the long finish.
