Deep Purple is a true symbol, one of the groups that codified hard rock, forging a unique musical personality thanks to its fiery duo formed by the incendiary guitar playing of Ritchie Blackmore and the twirling keyboard of Jon Lord. Throughout his career with Deep Purple, the latter has constantly sprinkled his work with references to the classical world from which he came, putting the leading roles in his Hammond organ, he helped to invent a new language musical, at the crossroads of rock, blues, hard, without ever forgetting its roots. Deep Purple is also the group that sparked the never-ending wave of live recordings in Japan, the one that composed timeless anthems like "Smoke On the Water", "Hush", "Lazy" or "Strange Kind of Woman" and shaped discographic gems like In Rock, Fireball or Machine Head, between 1970 and 1972. Formed in 1968 in Hertford, England, Deep Purple has gone through more than fifty years of rock history despite constant personnel changes, each new formation being baptized Mark I, II, III, etc. The group managed to survive the galloping megalomania of some of its leaders, while remaining able to travel the entire planet in the context of incessant tours.
