To intervene or not to intervene: Africa split over Niger

ECOWAS is ready to intervene militarily in Niger if diplomacy fails – that was the statement from the bloc of West African nations, following a meeting of the group in Ghana. However, there hasn't been a consensus between African states on the use of force to restore the previous government.
