Sun's 133-Day Duration

Documenting solar events spanning August 12 to December 22, 2022, this record is a result of observations conducted by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). Positioned in orbit around Earth, the SDO has consistently obtained high-resolution 4K x 4K images of the Sun for nearly 13 years. The insights gleaned from this data have facilitated innumerable novel revelations regarding the mechanisms of our nearest star and its impact on the solar system. Utilizing a trio of instruments, the SDO captures a Sun image at a remarkable interval of just 0.75 seconds.
