How to make organic whole yogurt. (Learn in 10 minutes)
Things you need:
- 7 Quart Crockpot
- 1 Gallon of organic Whole Milk (Ultra Pasteurized)
- 1 Tablespoon of organic cane sugar
- 1 Food Thermometer
- 1 Tablespoon of starter culture (this is just fresh organic store bought plain yogurt or a previous yogurt batch)
- 1 Mixing Bowl
- 1 Strainer
- Rubber Spatula
- 2 Sheets of Cheesecloth
- Mason Jars (for storage)
- (Optional) Mason Jar Funnel
Important Notes:
- If your milk IS NOT "Ultra Pasteurized" then you will need to heat it to 145F degrees for 30 minutes prior to cooling it down to 118F degrees.
- You DO NOT need to use an oven to let the Yogurt cultures grow overnight. Any warm place will due.
- You will need to drain excess whey from your mixing bowl frequently until your yogurt reaches desired thickness.
