On November 10, 2020, NASA officially certified SpaceX's Crew Dragon, encompassing the Falcon 9 rocket and its ground systems, for regular astronaut missions. This marks the first time in nearly four decades, since the space shuttle era, that NASA has approved a new crewed spacecraft. This significant milestone was achieved after a series of rigorous ground tests, simulations, unmanned flights, and a triumphant manned test flight.
