RAS Recirculating aquaculture system Project
The RAS project for California Bass is aimed at farming high quality California Bass using a closed recirculating water aquaculture system. California perch is a valuable fish species valued for its aesthetic appearance, fast growth rate, short culture cycle, strong disease resistance and high population yield. This project utilizes RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture) technology, which combines state-of-the-art technology, stringent management practices, and environmental protection considerations aimed at ensuring high quality aquaculture production in a controlled environment.
In this project, the culture density is typically 50-60 kg per cubic meter to maximize the use of culture space. The farming cycle is four months, which is relatively short and contributes to the efficiency of farming and production.
It is expected that the annual production can be up to 600 tons, which is a substantial figure and illustrates the good commercial potential of the project. Meanwhile, the environmental requirements for farming California perch are relatively stringent, so the RAS system provides stable water quality management to ensure healthy fish growth. This closed system is an environmentally friendly way of aquaculture by circulating and filtering water to reduce resource consumption and minimize the discharge of waste and hazardous substances.
In order to ensure the successful operation of the project, it is necessary to appropriately configure and manage the relevant equipment, including fish tanks, flow control systems, water treatment equipment (such as microfilters, degassing systems and biochemical filters), and oxygen supply equipment. In addition, regular monitoring of water quality and control of factors such as temperature and light are also key management practices.
The RAS program for farming California perch is not only economically beneficial, but also helps to reduce dependence on traditional fishery resources and protect the natural environment, while providing high-quality fish products to the market. This advanced aquaculture technology provides the feasibility of factory and intensive aquaculture and plays a positive role in promoting the path of sustainable development.
