The game takes place in the same world that we saw in the previous games of the same series such as Ace Combat 04. The Osean Federation has disturbed the peace between the military power of Erusia and the rest of the Osean continent, and because of this, an international peacekeeping force has arisen to establish a ceasefire in the entire Usean continent, while the previous president ordered the construction of a spaceship to revive the economy. It has skyrocketed and this issue has caused serious interference between people and Osean forces. It escalates to the point where a mechanic named Avril Mead gets stuck while flying in his old fighter, and Erusia also deals a terrible blow to the Osean forces and captures many parts of the continent along with a huge spaceship built by the name of Lighthouse.
