Researchers at Rutgers University's New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center have exposed a startling trend: Many gun owners, particularly newer ones, are concealing the truth about their firearm ownership.

The numbers are staggering to them that up to 60% of Americans could be gun owners, doubling previous estimates.

I went on Fox business to talk about these "quiet gun owners" who, out of concerns for social stigma on controversial issues and their privacy and safety, are choosing not to reveal their firearm ownership status.

The misuse of firearm polls for political agendas has created an environment of distrust. As politicians manipulate poll data to advocate for stricter gun control measures, law-abiding gun owners are caught in a predicament: to reveal their ownership could potentially expose them to biased legislation.

Rather than accurately representing the views of gun owners, these skewed polls contribute to an atmosphere of uncertainty and division.
