First Impressions of Dharamshala, India 🇮🇳 | McLeod Ganj

We made it to the mountains in northern India! This adventure started at 3:00 AM. Join us as we explore McLeod Ganj, a town next to the famous Dharamsala. This is the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh at the edge of the Himalayas. Our travel adventure goal was to explore the Himalayas in Nepal, Pakistan, and now India. McLeod Ganj is a beautiful mountain town, so different than anything we have experienced in India so far. It is a beautiful mix of Indian and Tibetan cultures. The exiled Tibetan government headquarters is located here. We’ll show you our hotel, take a walk through the town markets, and find lunch along the way. Before we call it a day, we visit the beautiful Kalachakra Temple, one of many Buddhist temples in this area.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates.
