The Often Abused Word “Expedient”
Christians should understand that we need authority from the rightly divided word of God (II Timothy 2:15) for all that we say and do (Colossians 3:16-17 and I Thessalonians 4:1-2). Though that is often understood on the surface, there are things that people want to do in the name of Christ that they cannot support through the rightly divided Scriptures. Then comes in the ward “expedient.” It is a Scriptural word and the concept has some Scriptural basis. However, whether or not something is expedient is often more restrictive than permissive in the Scriptures. This Podcast will challenge some common beliefs and should make you think hard about what you are doing in the name of our Lord. Please listen to the full Podcast honestly, with your Bible in hand.
