Episode 48: Preparing for Spiritual Battle: DEFEATING DISCOURAGEMENT

DISCOURAGEMENT can be brought on suddenly, but it can also be a seeping wound that develops over time when we have lost hope that circumstances will change.
A lot of us become discouraged by things that others around us get used to, and perhaps we even lose the empathy we need to persevere. These things can be from:
• Chronic pain
• Dead-end job
• Plans for life have not happened
• Life circumstances, like a troubled home, or addiction in the home
• Just getting older and losing relevance or mobility
• Feeling lonely or forgotten or unwanted
• Feeling un-needed
And there are many long-term circumstances that might cause you to feel not relevant any more, or that no one really cares about you. Maybe you feel alone, and past your usefulness… That can be really hard on your joy.
But you have to remember, that in GOD’S Kingdom, WE ALL HAVE EQUAL VALUE in His eyes. The Bible says that He LOVES the contrite and humble spirit, that they are NOT forgotten. That He puts the LONELY in FAMILIES, and has a good plan for us all.
