This is part 5 of studying Paul's letters to the church in Corinth. That city is much like modern day New York City or Los Angeles. Filled with culture, wealth, and many pagan practices. Let's take a look at the next section of the epistle that talks about men and women's head coverings, the Lord's supper, spiritual gifts, tongues, and the way of love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
