Be your own inspiration.

When we compare ourselves to others, we turn whatever we are doing into a competition. Instead, we can be inspired by others.

This also goes for that idealized future version of ourselves. There's no sense comparing ourselves to it, but rather realize where we are now and be inspired by that place that we want to be.

We can even put ourselves in the perspective of the future version and offer encouraging words and advice to our present self.
