A BBC investigation has revealed that women on basic pay in Africa are spending between 3% and 13% of their monthly wage on sanitary products.

Ghana is the worst affected of the countries surveyed, with women spending $1 in every $7 of their monthly salary on period pads.

BBC reporter Gem O'Reilly spoke to the activists trying to end period poverty in Africa.
