~ Love is the one thing mankind cannot measure

Oftentimes, the things that are closest to my heart, I find the most difficult to write about, my son being the obvious example, and now when I try to put into words what the @smashingpumpkins mean to me.

Even though they emerged from the time of Seattle grunge subculture, Billy Corgan's creative genius superiority well and truly exceeded the limitations of that movement, musically and artistically. Listening to his music is like seeing Klimt or listening to a live orchestra play Debussy. It is pure art. Layers upon layers and textures of beautiful breathtaking art. I can just live inside his totally unique minor chord progessions like being colour-bathed in a gallery immersion.

I don't what I'd do without this kind of beauty, without this level of exquisiteness that touches the intelligence of life that I think only geniuses see. Had it not rescued me as a 13 year old girl listening to a school friend's mix tape, I wouldn't have been able to reconcile my experience here on earth. In the misery would have drowned.

I am so thankful to them for giving me beauty, art and infinite creative upward spirals of ecstacy in all your songs, each one of them intelligent dreams, exquisitely crafted and performed.
