on the Sun 133 Days
This video shows pictures of the Sun taken between August 12 and December 22, 2022. A special camera on a spacecraft from NASA, called the Solar Dynamics Observatory, took these pictures. The camera takes pictures every 0.75 seconds. Some of the pictures show the Sun's outer layer called the corona. This layer is very hot and glows in a special kind of light.
The video makes all these pictures into a movie. It shows the Sun spinning, and there are bright spots that come and go on its surface. These bright spots have hot gas trapped by magnetic fields. Sometimes, these hot spots make bright flashes called solar flares.
The video also explains that the spacecraft sometimes couldn't take pictures because the Earth or the Moon got in the way. Sometimes, the camera had problems too. The spacecraft sends a lot of data to Earth every day.
There's also music in the video, and you can watch it on a website. The people who made the video work at NASA, and they say you can share it with others. The video helps us learn more about the Sun and keeps our astronauts safe.
