The Day the Music Died: Tribute To Garcia (I dropped 200ugs)

Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead have had the single greatest influence on my life of anything under the sun. Tomorrow Garcia would have been 81 years old, and as corny as it sounds, I feel his loss every single day of my life. In my opinion, the Grateful Dead represent a leap in consciousness akin to the building of the pyramids or the invention of the internet, It is only in recent years, as the psychedelic renaissance has gathered steam, that the masses have begun to understand. And its a beautiful thing to see. In honor of all that I will be doing Grateful Dead related streams all week ubtil the 9th.

And it isn't over. as the New Psychedelic Aeon picks up pace there will be a new wave of musician magicians, towing the line at the forefront of human consciousness. Right now we are experiencing the tremors; something big is coming. And not a moment too soon.

Over the years I have been blessed to play with some of the supporting post Garcia musicians, such as Jay Lane (Primus, Further, Ratdog, Weir and Wolf Bros, Dead and Co), Robin Sylvester (Ratdog), Donna Jean Godchaux (Elvis, Ray Charles, Grateful Dead),, Dark Star Orchestra, Rob Baraco (the Dead, DSO, Phil Lesh and friends). I even got to know Phil Lesh a bit, and was honored to sit next he and Jill while watching their sons' first public performance at Terrapin Crossroads. My journey with the Dead's music, and especially my interactions with all of the people that I just mentioned, took me way furthur than I ever would have imagined. It saved my life.
Hopefully I can share some of the magick I picked up from these people and experiences over the next 11 days of live streams.

Music is magick...everyone knows that. But what most people don't realize is that magick has secret super-powers. From the singing bowls of Tibet, shamanic healing songs in the Amazon rainforest, to weather responding at Grateful Dead, Tool, and other psychedelic rock concerts, there are wide ranging yet consistent reports of the secret powers of music.
The most important of these super powers, imo, is the ability to communicate directly from soul to soul, unimpeded by the many constraints and limitations of more conventional modes of communiicatio, and this will be the focus of tonight's Lightstream.
