As cliché as it is, they simply don't make games like Dead Rising anymore - probably because Dead Rising 4 was absolute dogsh*t. Controversial opinions aside ...

Dead Rising doesn't try to be more than what it is, a goofy, loud, slice some zombie wench who just tried to blow you in half then take a photo and say "Nice". There's so much detail within the game and you can pick up anything and use it as a weapon - depending on what it is it'll either be the equivalent of a fluffy care bear or a Kimbo Slice football tackle.

The fact that the game is small enough and short enough at roughly 6 hours the replayability (yes that's a word now) is off the charts. Unless you look everything up online then there's no way that in 1/2 playthroughs you could:

- Get all the survivors out in one go, considering their AI has spent the last fortnight huffing paint and spinning around in circles.

- Get the Zombie Genocider achievement, 50k+ zombie kills when chainsaws and baseball bats are made of wet toilet paper without the correct books.

- Complete all the case files, bearing in mind by the time you've done some of them you have about a minute to hoof it back to the security room to hear some jarring stereotypical exposition about justiceeeeeeeeeeeeee.

In general, I'd recommend everyone give the game a chance considering its only 6 hours for a playthrough and its pretty easy to get into, make sure to grab a skateboard, sports book and a bowie knife - and no that isn't a blender recipe but you aren't far off.
