The Disney Earnings Call is behind us, and unlike the previous two, where Bob Iger was practically ambushed by his own shareholders on several occasions, this was a tightly scripted affair with carefully screened call-in questions – as such, it went as well for Disney and Bob Iger as it possibly could.
But while it was stated in unemotional yet pretty words, between the lines, it was revealed that Disney is now a company in crisis; and while this was understated, it is a company facing an existential threat that is rushing towards them, like a comet on an impact course.
