Northern Fleet starts command and staff exercise for management of forces and troops

▫️ Today, the Northern Fleet has launched a command and staff exercise for the management of forces and troops, which is an integral part of the annual training cycle of the Northern Fleet's military management of bodies (staffs) of forces and troops.

▫️ In the course of the exercise under the leadership of Fleet Commander Admiral Aleksandr Moiseyev, various options will be tested for the management of the fleet's forces and troops in carrying out tasks to protect the sovereignty of the Russian Federation in the waters of the Northern Sea Route, and the coherence of the fleet's units and forces will also be tested in practice during the practical execution of assigned tasks.

▫️ Over the course of several days, within the framework of the exercise, the deployment of the Arctic expeditionary ship grouping of the Northern Fleet and the redeployment of some units of the coastal forces to protect the communications of the Northern Sea Route and the protection and defence of important facilities will be practised.

▫️ Also in the course of the exercise, possible areas and conditions for the use of the Northern Fleet's combined forces in the Arctic sea zone will be studied, and special operations will be carried out to isolate areas of operation, block and destroy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

▫️ A total of over 8,000 servicemen, 20 warships, submarines and support vessels, 5 aircraft, up to 50 units of combat and special equipment of formations and military units of the Northern Fleet are involved in the practical operations.
