“Fallen Angels”
18th In our series the Epistle of 2nd Peter

I. The Fallen Angels Judged by God - 2 Peter 2:4
* A. History of the rebellion - Ephesians 6:12
* 1. Angels were witnesses to Creation thus had to be created on the first day of the Genesis 1 account - Job 38:7
* 2. Their fall from obedience was swift - 1 John 3:8
* a. The fallen angels who followed Satan comprised 1/3 of the angels God created
* b. There was a subsequent judgment where an indeterminate portion of them were and are currently imprisoned and tormented 
* B. The demons Jesus confronted begged that they not be sent to that place of imprisonment and torment
* 1. The demoniac’s demons beg  - Matthew 8:29-33
* 2. Jesus had authority to send them there - Luke 8:31-33
* 3. Like the demons false teachers are also in danger of Tartarus - Jude 6
* a. They left the proper place of obedience to God
* b. They are in chains until the Judgment Day
* c. Saints will be involved in judging those fallen angels - 1 Corinthians 6:2-5

II. The Saint’s Confidence in the Spiritual War - 2 Peter 2:4, 9
* A. Greater is He that is in You - 1 John 4:4
* 1. Satan’s power is always limited by God regarding what he can do to the saints - Job 1:12 & 2:4-6
* 2. He can only do what God permits that will be to the ultimate benefit of the saints - Romans 8:28
* B. Jesus has the ultimate victory over Satan and his demons 
* 1. We can have victory whenever Satan tempts or attacks up - 1 Corinthians 10:13
* 2. Walk in the Spirit confident of victory
