In the latter part of the innings, Inzamam-ul-Haq played a crucial cameo, scoring 42 off 35 balls. Pakistan posted a competitive total of 249 for 6 in their 50 overs.
England Bowling: England's bowlers put up a commendable effort, with Derek Pringle and Ian Botham being the standout performers. Botham took 2 wickets for 20 runs in his 10 overs, while Pringle also picked up 2 wickets for 22 runs.
England Batting: In reply, England faced a challenging target. However, their top-order struggled to build substantial partnerships. Neil Fairbrother played a gritty innings, scoring 62 runs, but the regular fall of wickets hindered England's progress.
Pakistan Bowling: Pakistan's bowlers, led by their star all-rounder Imran Khan, bowled with precision and discipline. Wasim Akram was exceptional with the ball, taking 3 crucial wickets for 49 runs. Imran Khan also contributed with 1 wicket for 18 runs.
Result: England managed to score 227 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs, falling short of Pakistan's total by 22 runs. Pakistan's victory in the 1992 World Cup final marked their first-ever World Cup win. Imran Khan, the captain of the team, was widely praised for his leadership and all-round performance throughout the tournament.
