On Friday, Attorney General Merrick Garland declared that he has appointed a special counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation, intensifying the examination of the president’s son ahead of the 2024 election.

Garland announced the appointment of David Weiss as special counsel, the US attorney in Delaware, who has been investigating the president’s son’s financial and commercial transactions.
