In response to the ongoing Russian invasion and Ukraine’s counteroffensive against entrenched forces, the Biden administration has formally urged Congress to allocate over $13 billion in urgent defense assistance for Ukraine.

Additionally, an extra $8 billion has been proposed for humanitarian aid, extending through the remainder of the year.

The comprehensive package comprises multiple facets, including $12 billion to replenish domestic federal disaster funds, addressing the aftermath of a destructive season marked by severe heatwaves and storms.

Funds are also allocated to fortify enforcement along the Southern border with Mexico, with a focus on curtailing the flow of lethal fentanyl, the Associated Press has reported.
