Newborn Alaskan Malamute Puppy Practices Howling

Nothing is cuter than puppies, especially when they are trying to howl for the first time. While loud, noisy dogs can be annoying, especially if you have neighbors, a puppy’s first howl is incredibly adorable. Hopefully, he’ll never grow up and keep his little howl forever. While this puppy is tiny and cute, Alaskan Malamutes grow up to be large dogs originally used for hauling freight and later used as sled dogs, they are similar to other arctic dogs such as the Siberian Husky. They are popular in the sport of mushing, due to their endurance and ability to carry large amounts of weight. A single adult, male Alaskan Malamute can carry up to 500 pounds by himself. They have been found in Alaskan as far as recorded history in the area can tell, they are known for their excellent hunting abilities, even being able to defend a family against a bear. Due to their long history working alongside humans and their notoriety within the Arctic, they have become the official dog of the state of Alaska. Alaskan Malamutes have an interesting fur structure. They have two coats of fur: the undercoat which is a softer, woollier coat, and the outer coat which is course and strands off of the dog’s body. Hopefully, this cute puppy will stay tiny forever.

The puppy probably learned how to howl early, due to the dog’s well-known characteristic of being highly intelligent; in addition, to be independent, resourceful, and able to survive in harsh environments. Surprisingly, despite the video of the puppy howling, Alaskan Malamutes are rarely heard barking or making noises. They are known to howl like wolves as shown in this short video, or known to make noises that sound like talking, but in general, these dogs are quite quiet. Alaskan Malamutes are known to love snowy and cold conditions, which is why they have short little ears, and a rounded face, in order to fight against arctic snow and wind. Alaskan Malamutes are known to love people and to be perfect family dogs, in addition to being mindful of their surroundings, especially around furniture or children. Hopefully, this puppy will grow up to be big and strong, but it would also be okay if he stayed small forever.

Puppies are always cute and curious. They are usually imitating other dogs, especially their mothers as they grow up to be adults.
