The Coming Biden-McCarthy Showdown Over $24 B More Aid To Ukraine

On Thursday, the White House asked Congress for $24 billion in additional financing to bolster Ukraine’s defense against Russia, according to The New York Times.

McCarthy declared in June that a supplemental appropriation was “not going anywhere” and that any additional Ukraine funds would have to go via the regular budgeting process. That month, 70 House Republicans voted to permanently halt all financing for Ukraine.
