The UN & You with Jaspreet Boparai And Gill Booth - Nov 27

Gill and Jaspreet look at the last week in New Zealand politics. It's been quite a humdinger - two dozen bills pushed through the house under urgency and tens of thousands of submissions against Three Waters were completely ignored.
The Auckland University played host to United Nations delegates from across the globe, who attended a poorly advertised 'Constitional Korero'. Speakers were enthusiastic about using a new constitution as a 'side door' to entrench the UNDRIP (United Nations Declaration on the rights of Indigenous peoples) in New Zealand. The 2007 Labour Govt refused to sign UNDRIP as it was deemed incompatible with New Zealand's fundamental values of democracy, equality and governing for the good of all. However, in 2010, the National Government signed this 'voluntary' declaration.
