Milwaukee celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop

The official 50th anniversary of Hip Hop in Milwaukee is Aug 11, 2023. True Skool is presenting their 6th annual summer park jam this weekend at the Marcus Performing Arts Center. True Skool is a place for teens and students to visit after school hours and provides them activities, classes and community. Co-Executive Director of True Skool, Shalina S. Ali was inspired by the Hip Hop movement in her childhood, which served as an outside of school classroom.
