Drainage of an infected cyst behind the ear

This patient was seen in clinic and presented with a rapidly expanding, and painful, lesion just under his left ear. As a result of the infection, it was impossible to remove any type of capsule and that will have to be reassessed in the future. Regrettably, this video was cut a little bit short and irrigation and swabbing was not captured. The other thing I would note is that packing was not used in this case and neither was it necessary to place the patient on antibiotics. As a final note, this patient was completely cleaned up before he left the clinic and the small amounts of keratin and pus that had made their way into his hair, were removed. Thanks again and as always, feel free to comment.
