We set out to create art with Alka Seltzer and paint. What we ended up doing is experimenting with different nontoxic household chemicals and created our version of Elephant Toothpaste. It was not the huge explosive specimen that can be viewed on YouTube. We used what we could get out hands on and made something that we could enjoy watching the energy of putting different chemicals together and seeing what happens.
This was a great experiment that cost around $30. The look on the kids' faces as they watched the toothpaste expand and spew out of the bottles was priceless. I would not have changed anything. I will try to attempt this experiment again someday.
