There are lots of times where, depending on the size or location of a suspicious lesion, that these cases should be referred to a plastic or general surgeon as they can do some great work. However, cases like this should also demonstrate that beyond being able to handle some of them, that you should also expect excellent cosmetic results if you are doing them properly. That is the key to anyone doing procedures. It isn't an exercise in ego but simply an assessment of whether or not you possess the skills to do an excellent job and assist the patient? If you are ever contemplating a procedure and you are second guessing whether you should be doing it or not, you should likely be referring those cases along. Have a great evening!
