8/8/2023 According to Reuters’ report, former Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso paid a visit to Taiwan, where he met with President Tsai Ing-wen and had lunch with Vice President Lai Ching-teh, hoping that Taiwan's future leader will uphold the status quo. President Tsai stated that Taiwan is moving towards self-sufficiency in its national defense.
