Hammer Or Striker. Which is Better?

So I had a question on one of my Platypus videos and it inspired me to do this more focused look at the different triggers on my main 2 pistols.
My Shadow Systems DR920 has been set up with a Competition trigger from Johnny Glocks with his Vex shoe. It actually is really, really nice for a striker fired trigger. It is fairly light to break, very clean and the reset is fast and short. I think I have this set up pretty well.
But, compared to the hammer fired type on the Platypus, it is night and day different. The main thing I notice is that the break is super clean, and so much more consistent. There is zero overtravel. The trigger breaks, stops and the reset is short and forceful. Very easy to get back on for follow ups quickly. The consistency is the biggest thing to me. There is no springy, mushy feel that you notice with a striker fired system.
I think both of my triggers are really well done for what they are, but the hammer fired type on my Platypus is much better in my opinion.

I also try to show the other main difference, and that is going to be reloading. When dropping the slide on the DR920, my right thumb can hit the release and get back on real fast. On the Platypus, the release is farther forward and trying to reach with the thumb is trickier. I'm working on learning the support hand slide release when inserting a mag and building the grip in a smooth, fast motion. Still learning that obviously, lol. Hopefully in a few more months I can see a good improvement from these first attempts here!!
